Selecting Jewellery for Septum Piercing

Septum Piercings

Being the most common yet the trendiest piercings gives nose rings an edge over all other jewellery types. Many people choose to get a septum because it’s a challenging and aesthetically pleasing nose piercing that has endured the test of time. It may be plain and simple, or it can be made more decorative with gems and glitter rings.

A Septum piercing goes through the cartilage of your nose, placed between the nostrils. It’s one of the most common piercings in the world and can be done on a wide range of people, regardless of age or occupation.

How to select the right piercing jewellery?

If you’re thinking about getting your septum pierced, make sure to do a little research first—otherwise, you might end up with an infection or allergic reaction. You also need to decide what type of jewellery will work best for your body. The best way to choose what kind of jewellery you want to wear in your septum piercing is by trying on different styles and seeing what looks best on you.

Many types of jewellery are available for septum piercings: rings, barbells, studs and more. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, so let’s take a look at some of them.

Ring septum piercing

If you want to go with a ring instead of a hoop or stud, try getting one that has a flat back (it’ll be easier to find one that fits). Also, make sure it’s not too heavy; otherwise, it could cause damage as it moves around on your face throughout the day!

If you have a thin face, it’s best not to wear too much jewellery in your septum piercing because it will make your face look even thinner than it already is. However, if you have a round face, then this could be an option for you.

Captive beads or ball rings

The most common septum piercing jewellery is a captive bead ring. This type of ring is made up of two parts: the ring, which fits snugly around the top of your septum, and a small ball that sits inside the ring. It’s called “captive” because the ball cannot fall out. All you have to do is pop it in, and it’ll stay there—no need for extra tools or supplies!

These rings can be made out of many different materials, including stainless steel (the most popular), titanium, and precious metals like gold and platinum. They’re usually available in a variety of colours as well—from bright silver to deep black—so you can pick whatever colour best matches your style!

Circular barbells

Circular barbells are an excellent choice for septum piercings because they have a large enough diameter to comfortably accommodate the thicker skin of the septum and also have a smooth, rounded shape that is less likely to cause irritation.

They’re available in a variety of materials, including surgical steel and titanium, which makes them an excellent choice for people who want an allergy-free option. Because they’re so simple, circular barbells are easy to clean and safe to wear in any environment without worrying about them getting damaged or lost (which could happen with complex jewellery). They also look great when worn alone or paired with other piercings like an eyebrow or lip ring!

Curved bars

Curved bars are a classic choice for septum piercings because they have a unique shape that helps them hug the curves of your nose. They’re also easier to keep clean than straight, flat bars, and they require less pressure to stay in place, so you can wear them longer without the risk of getting an infection.

But they can also be tricky to get in. The curve is tough to work with, especially if you have a curved bar already (which most people do). If you want to switch from a straight bar to a curved bar, or vice versa, it’s best to take your time with this process.

If you’re planning on sticking with curved bars for your septum piercing, make sure you get one that’s high-quality and made of titanium—this will ensure it stays shiny and smooth for as long as possible.

Nose clickers

Nose clickers are designed to go in between the studs of your septum piercing, which is a great way to bring some extra attention to your nose piercing. The clicker itself is made out of metal or plastic and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. You can even get them in different colours!

To put on a nose clicker, simply hold it up against your face with one hand while you use the other hand to insert it into the hole in your septum ring. You’ll need to push hard enough that the clicker goes through completely (if you don’t, it will fall right out).

Horseshoe piercing

an earlobe, the horseshoe is the perfect solution! It can be placed anywhere along the rim of your nose, and it looks great with any nose shape.

It can be worn as a single-hole piercing, which means there is just one hole in your septum to accommodate the jewellery (the ring), or as a double-hole piercing, which means there are two holes in your septum for the jewellery. The double-hole horseshoe looks more like an upside-down U or a sideways capital E than an actual horseshoe. It’s also possible to have multiple holes in each side of your nose if you want to make it even more dramatic!
